Hello, recently joined the forum and proud owner of an F-type convertible 6 months.
I have also recently purchased a gravel bike.
Looking for bike rack options the only thing I have come across is the Birds rack from the US https://birdautomotive3.com/bike-rack-jaguar-f-type/
Unfortunately they have recently stopped trading, and I cannot find any options elsewhere.
I came across this for other convertible users https://boot-bag.co.uk/store/default/ca ... egory/110/ but I imagine this would get in the way of the retractable spoiler?
I do have a more practical banger, but as all the best cycling routes tend to be near nice driving roads would be a shame not to be able to do it in the F-Type.
Does anyone have any other suggestions other than hiring a man in a van to follow me around....
Thanks
Bike rack suggestions F-Type convertible
I had this issue on my previous car (not a Jag).
My solution was to add a tow bar bike carrier onto my other half’s car…..something she wasn’t too impressed about at the time!
That said I couldn’t imagine adding anything like that to my Jag even though I agree with your sentiment regarding good cycling areas.

I've bought 3 racks from Birds, last one just 6 months ago. Fantastic bit of kit. When I spoke to him in the summer he told me he wasn't making any more for the F-Type as there wasn't much demand, but didn't realising he was retiring.
As you state, I don't think a normal rack would work unless you can figure a way to disable the spoiler.
Again, doesn't help you since you have a convertible, but SeaSuckers work really well, used it on my Supra.
For me, a weekend car absolutely must be able to carry a bike. It's two hobbies rolled into one and getting to biking locations here in Scotland usually starts with an epic drive. I rarely just go for a drive nowadays. I do have a towbar on the family car for when I'm going with my family or road trip with friends.

Thanks for the replies.
I came across this luggage rack (revo rack) recently.

I wonder if that would do the job if I take the wheels off?
Btw that Supra looks really nice

You might be able to do something with it, have some bar welded on to carry the bike. I'd be worried it deforms the boot lid though. You won't simply be able to lie the bike on and secure it as the pedals will had the bodywork.Kamil37 wrote: ↑Fri Jan 03, 2025 10:34 am Thanks for the replies.

I always put the wheels in the boot even with the Birds rack so it doesn't cover the brake lights or number plate.
Thanks, love the Supra, my girlfriend now uses it as her daily. Proper weapon, great to drive.

Ah yes, fair point about the pedals.
Saw some pics on the MX5 forums and got my hopes up a bit with either the revo rack or using the vacumn suction pads on the boot could do the trick. Presumably any decent body shop would be able to modify the rack with a bar?
Not that I'm totally adverse to swapping the Kia for a Supra for bike and family duties
Many thanks
