Hi all,
I know this is a topic that has been covered extensively before, but i had some questions before I jump into the upgrade as there are a couple of options.
Option 1 is buying a blank heated wheel with no switches and then a right hand switch pack with heated button. Does the button for the heated function already exist under my blank so i can pop off the switch ‘faces’ and swap them out? OR is it the case that swapping the whole assembly for the new on would work in my car?
Option 2 is buying a new style (2020) steering wheel for my (2016) old style car (with no facelift but newer central instrument cluster screen). Would this straight swap work or are fittings and electrics different? Would the car’s not recognise the switches?
Essentially it all boils down to whether the light and switch already exist under my blank heated wheel button!
Any advice would be helpful, trying not to throw money away this close to christmas!
Heated steering wheel retrofit AGAIN
I'd save money and hassle and get these instead. They're good quality and supple despite the low price tag.

Have you read the previous posts on this swap as lots of useful info in them?
It's not just a swap of the steering wheel and button, you will also need to obtain and fit the module under the lower cowl on the column. Take off the cowl and see where a blank is currently located.
As for the buttons there is no solution for all and typically requires you to open the switch pack and through a little trial and error find which RHS & LHS circuit board work board combo works correctly. For me it was the new circuit board on the RHS from the SVR wheel I fitted and the original on the LHS. Any other combo either didn't have the heater microswitch on the board or other steering wheel function such as radio stopped working.
Don't forget that each time to follow the proper procedure to safely remove the airbag...
It's well worth it too. With roof down it can make a chilly morning much better than peeling frozen fingers off the steering wheel
