Hello
I'm reaching out to those more knowledgeable than me on this subject to hopefully find an answer..........
I took my 2018 400 Sport for Service and MOT yesterday. As per previous services it was pointed out to me that the H239 update was outstanding. I declined the update and saw that they had highlighted it on the job card as "not to be done". Having collected the car I checked it by putting it in to Dynamic Mode, stopping the engine and re-starting it. On re-start it reverted to Normal Mode so, having forgotten being in Dynamic Mode, I assumed the update had been done against my wishes. I spoke to the service desk about this. They checked their system and confirmed that the H239 update is still outstanding on the car. They say that if it had been done the alert would immediately drop off the records, as it was no longer outstanding.
Is there any other reason for the car to forget being in Dynamic Mode, or have I been duped and they have done the update anyway?
I look forward to any responses before I go back to the garage
Cheers
Rob
Forgetting Dynamic Mode on start up
Presuming the car didn't forget dynamic mode prior to the work? Then it would appear it has been applied then.
TopiX lists outstanding updates but will only update when they complete the invoicing so it can be a little behind I think.
If you send me your reg on a PM I will look it up.

Hi simpleR and thanks for your responses.
You presume correctly, the car didn't forget being in Dynamic Mode prior to it going for service. So from that I take it only installing the update will make the car forget being in Dynamic Mode?
Yes, EOJ is my car
Service was carried out yesterday and I collected it around 16:45. They checked the system at midday today, so maybe it hadn't updated by that time.

This is from a post 2 years ago - could explain your situation ...."There are two software H139 & H239 they came about a year apart. Avoid H139 means our car will not remember dynamic mode when ignition turn off.. H239 reduces noise even further by using electronic wizardry"

On a pedantic point, the car does remember Dynamic Mode when next switxhed on, but it then immediately cancels it. The proof is that the dials are still red when you switch the ignition on, and then switch to whatever colour is set for non-dynamic. This is from H139.
You may also find that the valves no longer open on the switch (assuming you have one) at tickover in non-dynamic mode, instead opening at around 1500 rpm.

Hi scm, when I bought my car around April, I was assured it didn't have the software updates. I didn't know it was possible to it look up online.
Any chance you could let me know the status on mine ? Pretty sure H139 must have been done as its never remembered dynamic mode. But curious to know about H239. Reg is GY68 DZF.
