I definitely agree that the Jag website and its fixed price servicing is the way forward. However, my word of warning is that Jaguar Guildford (no longer Inchcape) have tried on both occasions not to honour the website costing (1 service and 1 front discs and pads). Every time I have had to prove that this was booked and the booking price before they relented.
I noticed that the service schedule changed from 5 to 6 years for plug change recently. After trying the website today I’ve also noticed that it no longer shows fixed cost servicing if I try and book a service?? I’d be interested to know if anyone else has noticed this??
6 year service
Yes just make sure that when you get a quote it includes everything on the official service schedule, I know I have moaned about this before but some Jaguar Dealers (looking at you Derby!) seem to think that anything other than oil and filters is not on the Schedule and is charged extra. When my Diff oil was due they refused to honour their online quote after I reminded them it was due, worse still they said they wouldn't have mentioned it if I hadn't brought it up, If I hadnt been on this forum and seen SimpleR's post regarding Diff oil I would just have trusted them and it wouldnt have been done - so its easy to see how many items are missed off services.

Go to the online history site and download the service schedule for your car - then see them try to wriggle out of it!Purplecat wrote: ↑Sat Oct 26, 2024 6:29 pm Yes just make sure that when you get a quote it includes everything on the official service schedule, I know I have moaned about this before but some Jaguar Dealers (looking at you Derby!) seem to think that anything other than oil and filters is not on the Schedule and is charged extra. Well I pointed out it was on the Jaguar Service Schedule - but basically they refused to do the service unless I paid extra - I'd driven 70 miles to them so didnt really have much choice, cancel the service or pay up. They did give me a bit of discount, not much and I complained after they phoned me 2 weeks later to ask if I was happy with their service

Outrageous behaviour. If that were me I would be kicking up a fuss with the dealer principal and raise it with Jaguar directly.Purplecat wrote: ↑Sun Oct 27, 2024 1:04 am Well I pointed out it was on the Jaguar Service Schedule - but basically they refused to do the service unless I paid extra - I'd driven 70 miles to them so didnt really have much choice, cancel the service or pay up. Sadly I don’t think Jaguar have much interest in servicing “older” cars at all.
My days of using Guildford Jag are gone too (now Group 1). Oddly I noticed that the online booking service costs still don’t come up for Guildford but did if I were to use Harwoods near Gatwick. However the 9 year service is an eye watering £2k
I’m glad I’ve got a decent independent.

Hi,Jimmyrn85 wrote: ↑Sat Oct 26, 2024 6:04 am Hi Andy,
I had this done last year in Devon. I used it as an opportunity to replace some components which are difficult to access perhaps, so whilst it's all off get it done as a preventative measure. After all it's not a new car anymore. My car at the time had done about 28k. I took advice from my independent.
What I had done (cant remember the exact detail of the 6 year service):
Spark plugs
Transfer box oil
Supercharger coupler
Supercharger oil
Coolant pipes at the front of engine with the newer better designed ones (older ones prone to leak eventually)
Water pump
Supercharger belt
Aux belt
Engine oil
Air filters
Pollen filter
Brake fluid change
Engine coolant change
£2964.88 All in.
I use AJ Tech in Devon, great team and really trust their work and advice.
Cheers
Interested to know how you replaced the supercharger oil
Thanks

I thought that sounded a bit steep, and asked our local independent specialist, Julian Ferraro to quote for comparison. They came out at £1,560 inc VAT.Jimmyrn85 wrote: ↑Sat Oct 26, 2024 6:04 am What I had done (cant remember the exact detail of the 6 year service):
