Hi my 6 year service is due soon the car has only done 22k the 6 year service states it needs spark plugs and the supercharge belt changing. My question is do I need to replace plugs and the belt on this service even with such low mileage? If I do what sort of cost will it be at an independent specialist garage has anyone had this service done lately?

Hi Andy,

I had this done last year in Devon. I used it as an opportunity to replace some components which are difficult to access perhaps, so whilst it's all off get it done as a preventative measure. After all it's not a new car anymore. My car at the time had done about 28k. I took advice from my independent.

What I had done (cant remember the exact detail of the 6 year service):
Spark plugs
Transfer box oil
Supercharger coupler
Supercharger oil
Coolant pipes at the front of engine with the newer better designed ones (older ones prone to leak eventually)
Water pump
Supercharger belt
Aux belt
Engine oil
Air filters
Pollen filter
Brake fluid change
Engine coolant change

£2964.88 All in.

I use AJ Tech in Devon, great team and really trust their work and advice.

Cheers

Thanks for the info but that’s not a true reflection on a just a 6 year service price with all the other work.

What car did you end up with?

I thought you ended up with a blue V6 2019 model. Possibly car 60365. Which would coming up for 5th service in Feb 2025.

And supercharger belts are 9th service.

The 5th service at JLR is £502.30.

I paid £385 + £40 MOT when I had mine done in 2022.

Your service is due on 14th Feb 2025.

I'm having my 6th service next month at a JLR dealer for a price of £465. It pays to shop around and I found it cheaper to book through the Jaguar website than going direct.

To answer part of your question I'd change the plugs even if the mileage seems low Vs the 5 yr./80k recommendation.
5 years is a long time to seize in with much more expensive potential costs. Best to mitigate such risk.
