Well, this video popped up on my YouTube account. It’s three years ago, and is a review of the xtool D7 scanner unit, which Is still for sale in plenty of places for under £300, and has been updated to 2024.
The guy is a senior Toyota Tech in the US and seems mightily impressed with the functionality of this scanner/ diagnostic tool - It can even program keys! It is compatible with about 80 brands of car, Jaguar is listed but I couldn’t find any specific details regarding F Types.
He then did an update video a year later reviewing the newer D8 model with even more functionality - comparable to an OEM level scanner. Seems a lot of scanner for under £400. He demos it in use and it does look pretty darn good.
Just wondering if anyone has any experience of these X Tool scanners? They seem to be very capable for home/ DIY users at very competitive pricing.
Game changer scan tool?

I really enjoy watching his videos even when I've never owned a Toyota
I'm happy with my OBD scanner but I don't fiddle with it nowhere near as much as I used to with my Obdeleven there is VW specific and allowed me to do lots of things with my TT.
The F-type is too complex and expensive for my software skill level.
