Discovered this new object inside the left side headlamp, looks like a masking tape that has peeled off and rolled inside...
Seen before? Any hints on how to extract it?

If it's not one problem it's another with these lousy headlights.

Headlight is yet original one. Possibly a label which has delaminated?
Car is no more under original warranty, and the extended one excludes lighting / lights / diodes emitting light...
Guess will have to forget it there, or eventually remove the complete assembly and shake it to send this object into some hidden corner.

Don't know if you are familiar with this thread about nearside lamps failing/dimming after about year 3 or 4.

Having been a victim I'd recommend...
1) That you don't spend much money fixing this existing headlamp as it might be one that starts to dim in the next year or two anyway.
2) Start making arguments now using your rights under Consumer Act that there is a fault with the lamp that should not have happened when designed to last the life of the vehicle. This way would might get a replacement before the dimming comes.
No joke....£3k+ is a stake !

I had exactly this in my headlight too, it was under warranty luckily so dealer did it, but it is a piece of the wiring sheathing that comes unstuck and eventually gets into the front section of the headlight, they took the headlight out and managed to get the piece out, the light did not need replacing.

Many thanks for this input, glad learning its a cable sheeting and that it could hopefully be pulled out. I am getting ready to pull the headlight out and give it a try. Will keep you posted !Philskill wrote: ↑Fri Sep 20, 2024 4:34 pm I had exactly this in my headlight too, it was under warranty luckily so dealer did it, but it is a piece of the wiring sheathing that comes unstuck and eventually gets into the front section of the headlight, they took the headlight out and managed to get the piece out, the light did not need replacing.
