It's been discussed every now and then in the past exactly what Dynamic mode does. I'm sure I've read somewhere that it among other things loosens up DSC a bit, so I was quite sure that it also enables TracDSC and claimed that a few times. After playing around with it properly this afternoon I have to say I stand corrected.

Dynamic mode may affect how the DSC behaves but it doesn't enable TracDSC and there's quite a difference in how much the car is allowed to lose traction if one enables TracDSC on top of Dynamic mode.

My winter tyres are reaching the end of their life, it's soon time to put on the summer wheels so I'm doing my best to have some extra fun with these tyres before they're binned. Glorious weather, 14 degrees, dry roads and hardly any traffic on the favourite country side roads so this afternoon the car got a good workout during a couple of hours, partially in TracDSC and sometimes with DSC entirely off for some real RWD action. :D

Sounds like a great day. I plan to do exactly the same when it's time for new tyres :D

A great afternoon indeed. 2,5 hours of mostly very spirited driving. One of the nice things about getting new tyres. I guess you'll have to work a bit harder to finish your tyres considering the massive traction the AWD provides, even if you turn off the DSC. :)

Will have to see what to get for the next winter but the Pirelli Sottozero 3s I've had until now have been really impressive. A bit unexpected considering how disappointing Pirelli's high performance summer tyres can be. It's clearly a different experience than my summer 20" Michelin PS4S but even on a day like this the Sottozeros provided surprisingly much grip, plus that they are comfy and rather quiet.

I had exactly the same experience with summer PS4S’s and winter Sottozero.
Sottozero don’t come cheap but are probably the best winter tyre choice and you can lean on them surprisingly well.
