As some of you may know, my company has, with a couple of partners, been engaged in working towards a technical solution to this issue - we're not interested in the litigation route which some seem to favour. You're welcome to join our Facebook group, https://www.facebook.com/groups/861160799193193 if you are affected by this issue, or concerned that you might be in the future.

There will be, all I can suggest is to watch this thread. I've also recorded a quick video explaining where we are, directed at the Facebook community, but you're welcome to view it here:

Well done Tim. I'm a very proud owner of a beautiful 2019 F-Type convertible that developed the irritating DRL issue on, you've guessed it, the left hand light. The car went through the MOT last September with this as an advisory so I'm looking to replace the light during some part of 2025.

Your excellent video interested me very much and I'll certainly sign up to the FB group with keenness to learn more

Many thanks for what you are doing on this Tim

Kind regards

Hi Tim
I’ve got a 19 plate but my DRL is still working that’s the kiss of death 😂. I’m not on FB but I’ll be interested in a crowed fund if needed. I’m sure the f type community will help if needed.

Latest on my DRL woes. Moved to another dealer in Eastleigh, booked in on 19 December to change the headlamp to be told today (18/12) that they don’t have the part, no stock at Jaguar, on back order with no ETA. This is hopeless. When will there be new parts - does anyone have any info? Can Jaguar even be bothered? Is it time to sell the car while I still have an MOT?

This situation is quite concerning. It's bad enough the replacement cost is several thousands of pounds but, that you couldn't even get one in a satisfactory time frame (such as MOT failure) is appalling.

I can see a situation where the last remaining 'good' LED headlight is circulated around amongst us each year for the MOT.
