Gear lag in 2019 F-Type

Hi, I own a 2.0 2019 F Type which is essentially a high days and holidays car. I did however use it on a recent week break in the Cotswolds. During this trip I noticed a lag when the car changes gear at low speed, especially going up inclines (not steep as such). This is my first automatic and I am more used to the progression of power delivered through manual gear changes. Is this just a case of getting used to automatics or is this abnormal. Accelerating away from a standing start, it seems to 'pause' as it changes up. Quite weird. Fine when it cruises in high gears. Anything to concern me?
You could try resetting the gearbox as it learns and adapts to your driving style.

I don't know about the box in the 2.0 but if it's like the one on the V6 and V8 it can be quite "lazy" if you've been pottering about and then try a bit of pace - it takes time to adjust. Boot it a few times and see how it changes! I've found the ZF box to be excellent at predicting, and acting on, my thoughts about when it should shift - much better than those slush boxes of old.

It should bang through the gears pretty effectively when you move the shifter to sport and then use the paddles. If it does, the box is fine and you are just experiencing the lazy shifting of comfort mode.
If the paddles result in slow, slurred shifts then there's something needing sorted.

With the shifter in "S" you can use the stick as a sequential shifter, too, instead of the paddles! Back to shift up, forward to shift down.

Thinking outside the box, as I'm not certain quite what you're describing (a video would be a huge help): are you sure you're not unwittingly in RAIN/ICE/SNOW mode? Check the driving mode selector, to the right of the shift-stick, has neither symbol illuminated. The ZF gearbox in the F-Type is a sensational bit of engineering, renowned for its fast shifting, and usually ultra-reliable.
