Glad you got it sorted, and also helpful to other forum members knowing you got this done under the extended warranty. I can imagine some dealers might try and say it is not covered....
One DRL is half as bright as the other.

Just to clarify/confirm. I have the Jaguar Extended Warranty (not the cheaper Select Extended Warranty).
The Jaguar Extended Warranty covers electrical failure as defined as "Electrical Failure is the sudden and unexpected failure of a component which requires immediate repair or replacement".
I just had to confirm the headlight was working fine one day and the next it had failed.
The parts are in stock, some people on Facebook saying they are waiting for months, mine arrived within 3 days.
I didn't pay for the diagnostic fee, that was covered by Jaguar under the free vehicle health check they offer. The total bill back to warranty was £2,104.38 for the headlight and £53.99 for 20 min labour. Plus VAT equalled £2,590.04 so also not as bad as the £3,500+ Facebook horror stories.
Hope everyone else gets sorted out.

Doesn't look that bad in the picture. A bit like mine.
Even if the dealer cares JLR and Valeo don't and that's where the problem is.
It's still mind boggling that Valeo managed to produce right hand side DRLs that last but not left hand side ones.

Whatever happened to the person that wanted to share details here on the forum of a business that may be able to help repair these? 3K for a headlight that's guaranteed not to last the life of the vehicle (i.e 20 years) is outrageous.

Took the car out for a proper blast today and while out and about for once took a good look at the DRLs. I think it might have gotten worse than before because when looking at it from straight ahead outdoors the difference between the DRLs looked a bit bigger than in the past.
One rather obvious way to hide it a bit is to keep the headlights on.
Oddly enough in a darker place like a dim garage and the headlights on it's nearly impossible to see a difference.
Since the root cause seems to be some light rod that gets dislocated my personal theory is that bad roads speed up the process. In fact when I first noticed that the DRL had become a tad dimmer I think it was a while after a weekend of blasting about on lovely but horrendeously bumpy English B roads which are the worst roads I've ever subjected my F-Type to.
The intensity is quite hard to catch with a phone camera but this is how mine looks now.

Had a looksy at mine earlier and the nearside has definitely failed. Looks to be covered under the Jaaag Used Approved Warranty as they don't mention headlights under the 'What's not covered' section. Just noticed how bad the panel gaps are too

Yep that's a clear fail. Looks like the car could use a bit of bonnet and front bumper alignment.

I don't think the light rod gets dislocated, but the material it's made of becomes discoloured at the focal point, restricting the passage of light, instead of being 100% clear.MajorTom wrote: ↑Sun Jul 21, 2024 5:30 pm Since the root cause seems to be some light rod that gets dislocated my personal theory is that bad roads speed up the process.
