I think they are a weak link to break if you overload the boot space and have powered hydraulic rams to open and close the rear tailgate. Easy to replace with large stainless steel bolts and big washers inside and out, but be ever so careful not to overfill the boot again. I replaced mine 18 months ago, and had no further problem, but…. When I load the boot up full, I first release the two strings that hold the self open, to ensure the shelf closes properly, before I shut the tailgate.
Hi Andy - I don't I'm afraid - I literally had a rummage around in the garage and found a suitable bolt that would fit snugly in the hole left where the peg had snapped off and used washers either side to reinforce the panel. I also used a dremmel and cutting wheel to trim back the bolt slightly so that the shelf sat in its natural position. It also has the advantage that the shelf will not fall off the supports now, as the bolt is slightly longer than the original peg.

JTB00618 - "parcel shelf loose or adrift" addresses that by applying a grommet on each peg.
