What have you done to your F Type today?

I just noticed the orange lines on the glass. Looks like some antenna wires. I don't have them and I can't remember seeing them on other F-Types.

Makes me wonder what kind of antenna then and why other (earlier?) cars don't have any antenna wires there.

I would have thought they are on your MY18 car....have a closer look at the rear quarter glass? My 2016 car has them.

The country has published a roadmap for the deployment of DAB+. The goal is to enrich the audio media offering, ensure near-national mobile reception, and support access to digital radio for local stations.”

DAB seems to be a bit of an odd one and not as widely used outside of the UK. I had DAB years ago in the XF I had before the F-Type, travel all over Europe and was baffled by how few stations were available in different countries. Sound was clearly better than FM but there were so few broadcasts and in so few places that it was quite useless. Maybe the coverage is a bit better now. I extremely rarely listen to radio broadcasts in the car anyway, and if so it's FM or streamed through a radio app via CarPlay.

Interesting with the TV option too. I know it's been available for ages in other Jags with the same infotainment system but really can't remember seeing any F-Type with it.

Started yesterday and finished today. Refinished my wiper arms. They were very faded and had a bit of bubbling starting where corrosion had started to set in.

After removing the arms (one nut each and the washer hose) I set about the corrosion with 80 grit, taking the corroded areas back to bare metal then removing the surface corrosion until none remained. I used 400, then 800 grit papers wet with soapy water to remove the scratches and key the rest of the arms after washing the dirt off with a brush and soapy water.

After drying, degreasing and wiping down with a tack cloth I applied three coats of etch primer.

Light sanding to key the primer, rinse, dry and degrease before adding 2k gloss black, matched to the bonnet inserts and window surrounds. Who knew you put black, blue, red and white paints together to match a shade of black!?

The first coat or two look a bit ripply but that smoothed out with subsequent coats. Left to go hard and in a week or two I will compound the paint to get a better finish, but I’m happy with what can be achieved with rattle cans from an auto paint supplier.

Now, time to C4 those plastics again!!!

Over here in the UK I find the DAB radio coverage excellent with great sound quality and have numerous preset stations which I regularly listen to. Can’t remember the last time I used FM etc! I’ve also stored music on the USB stick which is plugged into the port in the cubby box.

With regards to the TV option I haven’t seen it in an F-Type either. Perhaps because the parts link I posted earlier shows the TV tuner module for Brazil and Japan markets?

Technical note on DAB: it was the first commercial system to use the digital encoding scheme that goes by the wonderful name of Orthogonal Frequency Domain Multiplexing (OFDM) which is now pretty much ubiquitous in TV, mobile phones, WiFi, and even your broadband over copper wires. It allowed a radio station to use a smaller slice of radio bandwidth than trad analogue radio. Or, in reality, to squeeze lots more stations into the same bandwidth. The more stations you pack in, the less data is devoted to each, and the nastier the sound becomes (as with MP3 files).
DAB has a more consistent sound quality than FM - without the background hiss, but FM can still sound better than a DAB channel starved of bits.

DAB was enthusiastically taken up by the BBC which is why it is well established in the UK. But in its first-generation guise, it had problems in poor reception areas. Early DAB users will remember the under-water burbling sound when the signal was poor.
I think that has been largely solved these days with better receivers and antennas spread over an area (like your car window) to avoid 'deep fades'.
But it motivated the development of DAB+ which performs better, and which Luxembourg will enjoy.

Of course its a bit late now to retro-fit DAB+ in the UK now, despite efforts. The pendulum has swung from broadcast to streaming over the mobile phone network.
You can argue the merits of that. But DAB is still a great solution for cars now that it has been made to work well, and should be around for some time to come.
