Wow, I did not expect so much reaction to my post. But, the mileage is 41k and the term engine mounts may be clumsy. Specifically, I was advised that the devices (mounts) that stop engine vibration needed attention as the vacuum had leaked. Doesn't make sense to me as I do not know how they should be described.

Treated the leather to a coat of this great stuff. Used to use Dr Leather wipes for years in the past but haven't looked back since I switched to this.

Then took it out for a proper Italian tuneup, in naked boot maximised exhaust noise mode. It really makes quite a difference to the in cabin exhaust noise to run it like this without all the trim pieces and covers.

Got a small upgrade ....

dyno-sheet.jpg

Although Jaguar market the P450 as having 450ps power output, mine was putting out 500hp and this appears to be fairly common. With the remap loaded in, the dyno showed a healthy upgrade to 624hp and 611ft/lb of torque. I would love to tell you how this all feels but it was chucking it down with rain for the whole 100+ mile drive home and my tyres are not that far away from needing replacing, so discretion got the better of me. The one 'squirt' I did perform, on the only bit of dry road I did encounter, was 'eye opening'.

Replaced a cracked coolant expansion tank. It was only leaking when engine was hot and tank pressurized, it had a hairline crack on engine side. A new tank costed me about 120£, plus 1 liter of coolant that was lost. Still not sure what is the correct overpressure for the tank cap, the new one came with 140 kPa but I've seen photos from members with 200 kPa.

Swapped out my bronze paddle shifters for a set of aluminium ones.

Was worried about them looking odd in contrast to the bronze starter button, but I think it looks better like this!
