Fettled by Celtic with a custom map this morning, result being 342hp, up from 300.2hp and 387lbft, up from 323lbft running E10 95Ron. It will be running Super from now on. In addition, they found the car is fitted with the ZF8 70HP gearbox and that can handle 700Nm an not the 50HP as you'd anticipate. They were also able to tune the gearbox to allow faster shifts and raise the torque limits in lower gears.
Overall the car feels far smoother and pulls far better. I know the question is why bother getting a P300 then getting it mapped when I could have just purchased a V6. The answer is I really don't know, I just love how this one looks.
Overall I'd definitely recommend Celtic, second car I have done with them and both times the results have been impressive.
Now, to find a thread on how to remove the mirror caps....
Regards
Rob

Just had the stage 1 engine remapping by Celtic Tuning this morning. Less than an hour and £400 later the car was increased to 342 BHP and 387 lb/ft of torque. The car feels more responsive on the throttle. I've not had chance to give it a long run as yet, but you can certainly feel the difference from limited tests so far.

Interesting that 2 cars mapped a year apart come out at exactly the same hp and torque. I wonder if they slap a virtual overlay onto the blank screen
That said I hope the reliability holds up squeezing that much hp out of a 4 cylinder 2 litre. Shows how understressed the V6 is in stock set up with a litre more to play with.

I did think the same. Although if the same map has gone on...I assume the system adjusts for atmospheric conditions these days compared to years of old.cj10jeeper wrote: ↑Tue Apr 15, 2025 9:19 am Interesting that 2 cars mapped a year apart come out at exactly the same hp and torque. I don't think reliability will be an issue unless you thraaap it constantly, and let's be honest in situations like that there is more chance of the V6 going pop

I think modern forced induction engines are a thing of wonder. I remember my 220hp MR2 Turbo being all lag, now that is not existent and they make far more power.

I'm interested in the answer to SCM's question regarding insurance, if the re-map needs to be registered with the insurance company and would the re-map invalidate my Jaguar extended warranty?

I can offer my perspective on this from experience:
On the warranty I've had 2 prior JLR vehicles with remap / tuning and one the dealer could see an aftermarket tuning box and advised that it would be noted and if not removed and returned to normal my warranty would be cancelled on the next visit to the dealers.
All insurers I have spoken to and used over the years have required confirmation of any changes from standard to the car, including remaps and not doing so will invalidate the policy, especially on remaps where it's resulted in increased power. I've seen a few posts where people have reported it, but had no increase in premium, but these seem to be the exception. My experience is it always increases the premium.
Compare have a quick summary of it covering premiums and warranty:

Adrian Flux who frequent the forum have similar comments:

The conclusion seems clear that do it after warranty has expired to avoid that risk and inform your insurer in all cases.
