Sticky tyres means plenty of grip, surely?

How do you rate their wear? I have no complaints except for the wear. I lost 2mm in 3,000 spirited miles at the rear. At this rate, I'll be lucky to get 8K miles from them.

Sounds like you're driving properly! I've never got more than 10,000 miles out of tyres on any of my 4 Jaaaags.

The wear and tear all depends on driving style and road surfaces but generally very good I have the all wheel drive F-Type for the first time the others where RWD I've had it 5 months now and when the generally very good when when they get warm the car feels like its on rails

I’ve just put on a set of continental sport contact 7’s and noticed the tread wear number was 240 on them, it was 300 on my old j marked Pirelli’s. The continental are obviously quite a bit softer

^^^ Funnily enough, I'm about to have a set of the same tyres fitted this afternoon. No idea what the wear indicator was on the Sport Contact 6, but they've survived 11000 miles on the rear (probably about half of that is motorway cruising on long runs through Portugal, Le Mans and Spa) but the other half is 'spirited' driving on b-roads locally.

EDIT: Just looked and they are rated at the same, 240. Personally, I had no problem with the Sport Contact 6, coping nicely even in the recent heavy rain storms on low tread (circa 2.5mm), a far cry from how the original p-zeros worked when tread was half gone.

We have P Zero on the rear and Eagles on the front on our P300, never been happy with either for different reasons. However, I'll be putting a full set of Conti SC7's on over the next couple of months :-)
