Great idea about wadding, think I may have some of the white polyester stuff somewhere.
The calibration microphone is one from Dayton audio - best thing is it’s fully calibrated so when you go on their website you put in the mic serial number and then you can download the full compensation file.
Fairly straight forward to then import into the sound app so you get perfect (ish) results, well as good as your gonna get without spending loads
Speaker upgrades
I’m holding the mic at the moment at my head height with mic plugged into one of those iPhone headphone adapters then into an iPhone 12…but might try a small tripod.
My logic is that better to have a person in the car rather than empty…cos you are gonna get more reflective of the seats etc.
Odd that many car audio people test empty.

Also you need to fool the stereo to get the test tone…so connect via Bluetooth and then play a silent song (crazy that there is one!!!) on Spotify then open the sound cal app. Then you can run the signal generator.
I do a slow manual sweep with peak hold enabled.

It certainly seems you’re well on top of objectively ensuring you get the best sounds.
I guess it works well on a coupe, but you’d soon lose the benefits in a vert with the roof/windows/deflector combinations to consider.
I have to say, my in-car sound tuning tends to consist of roof down and pull into Dynamic to keep the exhaust valves constantly open.

Hello All
Does anyone have a definitive LIST of speaker sizes For each of the fitments needed?
Thanks in advance!

Did anyone match these up to some aftermarket options like JBL etc - rather than buying OEM upgraded parts from the JLR parts bin?

Added a bit of wadding and did some more measurements.
The first plot is fader all the way forward (so no rears)
Second is with fader 3/4 forward how I normally set it.
Third is rears only (I have rears as have reversing camera option) I was surprised how far up they go.
Last is a photo of the wadding fitted to the door card
So interestingly the biggest mid bass suck out is filled slightly when adding the rears.
Also feeding in the rears gives a flatter response…
Reading some articles, most premium systems have a sloped frequency response ( 3-5 dB up in the bass, and 2-3dB down in the treble. So it needs a click up or two in the bass.
