The sound deadening makes all the difference - from boomy and rattly door cards at low volume to acceptable at much higher volumes I'd say. I then upgraded the speakers with those units mentioned bought from a guy who breaks / strips and sells the parts of door units from Range Rovers on EBay, I was surprised how much difference the change of tweeters made as I wasn't initially going to bother with those thinking the woofer would be the problem ... but IMO by far the biggest improvement came from the addition of the sound deadening on the 3 surfaces - door skin, door unit and door card itself. It was easy and quite fun. Enjoy!!
Good news as I'm going to do this as have the mid and tweeters.. is it worth changing the woofer ?

Just managed to snag two BRAND new premium mids off eBay for £45!
Can't believe my luck with that.

Just managed to get the premium tweeters too.

Are the woofers essential, as they seem to be the hardest to track down?
Or would the premium tweeters and mids with some sound deadening suffice?

You could do the tweeter and mid while you wait for the woofers. Not sure if the efficiencies will differ though. The better woofers should give a less muddy low mid and bass particularly at higher volume as the cones in the originals are very flexible.

Is it quite a difficult task removing the door cards though/damage the clips? Therefore really you only ever want to do it once!!!

Get a cheap trim removal set including the reverse plier things. Then it's pretty easy.

Agree, reverse pliers kit is the way to go. Easy, didn’t break a single clip.

Has anyone got a cheap diy solution to the annoying vibration on the door panel.

So I spent this morning doing this little upgrade and I’m VERY pleased with the results.
The audio has improved and has more clarity, I can hear more instruments and everything just sounds better!

The only slight issue I had was some of the clips were very stubborn and in there solid, then getting the door cards back on was a little awkward, trying to line up everything up correctly.

Very satisfied overall though, especially for the time and cost involved.

And a photo below just showing the sound deadening I applied.
