Haven’t worked much more on panel timing but did get an improved sound by using the equaliser built into Spotify.

Obviously can fill in the local dips but did improve the mid bass

I’ve just gathered to do this upgrade on a base system, (door sound deadening and replacement premium speakers).

I had a cracked cover on the rear speakers behind the seat, and whilst replacing that was surprised to find a small operational speaker here too.

I thought the base system had 6 speakers all in the doors…

You get the mids at the back if you have the reversing camera option… think it’s so you get the beeping from the back.

They do help a bit but I set the fader 3/4 way to front

Is it me or has this YouTuber installed speaker AW93-18808-EC.

He claims to have installed the “BC” variant but judging by how it looks. Looks nothing like the BC speaker and in fact , a lot more like the “EC” speaker

Is it just me or am I completely wrong and placed an order in a set that won’t fit my F type 🤣

Only asking as the “BC” variant is so hard to find

Hi, I have found this forum to be amazingly helpful.

There isn't many F Types in Australia, nor is there many XJ etc, so I am more likely to find the upgraded speakers on the Land rover/range rover platforms.

Given the below parts, does anyone have alternate part numbers that I could search the local wreckers for

Tweeter AW93-18808-AC- y
Mid AW93-18808-BC
Woofer CPLA-18808-FB

Here's a reference table of all JLR upgrade speakers that are compatible with the F-Type

F Type speaker table full.jpg

You will probable struggle to locate the 8" door subs. You can try searching for an XJ sub parcel shelf, engineering part number AW93-04692-BC, which houses two CPLA-18808-FB

At a push, you could use the co-axial centre speaker from the 770W Meridian Surround as a Mid for the door. AW93-188808-EC, C2Z22817.

Happy hunting.

Thanks so much, I had been looking to have to purchase in Uk or the US, I went to my local JLR wrecker who had a reasonably new set of Meridan signatures out of a late model Land Rover. Overall the prices I got them for was almost a steal as I don't think they knew the value!

For the entire set was less then $500 AUD.

I have also brought a fair amount of car builders sound deadener and will do the upgrade over the next couple of weeks.

About £240 then without the shipping hassle, good price, less than half that of new JLR items. The sound insulation (3 layer) and speaker upgrades made a big difference to the audio quality in my Coupe. In terms of value for money, it was a worthwhile upgrade and not particularly difficult, being plug and play with no complicated amp set up to deal with. Enjoy the tunes ;o)
