Hello Everyone!
I'm in the market for a V8 F Type and have about £45k to play with. I'm in a dilemma! and would love to hear your thoughts/advice on these two vehicles, and which to go for
1. A 2018 V8 R with 13,000 miles on the clock, or
2. A 2021 V8 R-Dynamic AWD with 20,000 miles
Help me please! I'm drawn by the extra power with the V8 R, but also by the new shape of the later car.
Cheers
V8 R v. V8 R-Dynamic
The 2021 car is a much more tamed version of the 2018 Type R. The Type R is likely to make you much happier and depreciate less too. But I'm new-ish here so I'll let the experts expand on the subject.

Always a nice problem to have and both are great choices.
I was in the same predicament with the same budget a few months ago.
Some of the things I weighed up were:
Insurance: The P450 R-Dynamic was significantly cheaper, by about 25%. This may not be the case for everyone but there was a significant difference in my quotes.
Styling: Initially I much preferred the pre-facelift front end. In my opinion the newer shape doesn't photograph well. But I actually preferred the new shape 'in the metal'. It's subjective either way but they are quite different aesthetics. I'm very happy with how my P450 looks from all angles!
Interior: The digital dash of the latter cars definitely felt fresher to me and is a decent display.
Performance: Yes, there is a different. However, there's not been a single occasion where I've booted the 450bhp and though it felt underpowered! It's an awesome car. I think there were some suspension upgrades too but could be mistaken.
Acoustics: Emissions upgrades meant the facelift models had a less ballsy soundtrack, albeit still with the characteristic F-Type rasps. If that bothers you the solution is very simple - pull fuse 15 and it sounds far more raw with overrun crackles lower down the rev range. Sound is part of the F-Type appeal but I wouldn't want anything louder.
Assuming they both present well and have decent service history, it probably just comes down to personal preference. Either way, you'll have a beautiful car that's thrilling to drive.

2020 P450 R-Dynamic AWD finished in SVO 'Sanguinello'
The p450 has the svr suspension upgrades and steering rack, and software improved gearbox changes. Buy any v8 Ftype and a stage 1 mod takes it close to,600hp. Weren’t the earlier Rs mostly rwd, the 2020 ones were awd.
I don’t think earlier Rs depreciate less than p450s. I have a 600hp p450 and apart from the badge the car is the same as the R.

I was fortunate to get a MY21 P575 R in my price range. Personally I much prefer the facelift model. The only vehicle I am 100% certain that has the previous SVR technology is the P575 R. I have not read anything or seen a review that says the P450 has the SVR gubbins but I would stand to be corrected. Yes the face lift had the GPF, yes it has none, or more, of the H239 exhaust software updates, however it’s still bonkers loud when it wants to be, a different animal entirely if you remove Fuse 15. I will say, there is little space in the UK where you can use the car to its full potential, but the few seconds here and there are a joy.

You can remain seated - only the P575 has the SVR stuff.

Lots of leather and toys, and loads of noise!

That goes some way to explain the substantial price difference between the P575 and the P450 then, so just having the engine remapped on the P450 and giving it more hp and torque doesn’t make it the same as the P575. Secretly rather pleased with that, makes it feel all the more special.
