To make it easier with a side by side...

I'm really smitten how helpful you all are.
V6 AWD and V8 AWD have the same bonnet?

Yes my mistake getting it the wrong way around - not paid much attention to the awd ones.
In my opinion the rwd design looks more on point with the bonnet bulge.
And you can also get V6 awd, including the BDE and 400 Sport editions.

Yep, the bonnets only vary between RWD and AWD. And the latest facelift.
The easy way to distinguish V6 from V8 is the number and placement of the tailpipes, two centre ones for the V6, quad pipes, two on each side for the V8.

Got it. If I want to make sure I get a V8 AWD car, vents must be further apart and down the bonnet.

This car is supposed to have heated and cooled seats according to the ad description but I don't see the word "push" on the buttons nor the little image of a seat. Does that mean anything?

Also, this car doesn't have a heated windscreen or heated steering wheel but it does have heated and cooled seats. Does anyone else find this combo a little strange?

Hmm, that does sound a bit odd although it probably was possible to spec a car with seat heating+cooling but without heated steering wheel and windscreen. My A/C dials look like this:

acdials.jpg

Since it's a Jag dealer you could ask them for the exact build and options sheet which they should be able to provide. Otherwise you can get the car's VIN and ask JLR customer services for the build sheet. The more detailed part of the spec seems to be copied from a Jag spec sheet so it could be right that it has climate seats. It does however also happen that people (dealers) think seats are cooled just because the leather is perforated, which also the non cooled facelift performance seats have.

The option "Abstandsregeltempomat" can't be correct because the F-Type to my knowledge never came with a radar distance cruise control. The probably just mistook the normal cruise control for that.

Being a presumably official dealer it's a bit strange that they don't include the JLR approved warranty for this car. Maybe something to negotiate about.

You should also be aware of that this one has the petrol particulate filter which makes it less noisy than the earlier V8 cars.

Another thing to keep an eye on, especially if you get closer to buying - loads of MY18 cars but also some later ones have issues with the LED DRL on the driver side. There are some separate threads about this. The only solution is to replace the whole headlight which costs north of 3000 €. This is not covered by JLR's approved warranty on the German market.

I just sent an email to the dealer asking for clarification on radar cruise control and cooled seats.

Thanks for the heads up about the LED DRL going bad. 3000 eur? Blimey!

About the particulate filter - how "less noisy" is it? Is it just less pops and crackles or generally lower exhaust volume in decibels? If it's the former, than I don't mind a little less pops and bangs but if it's the latter, then this is a major bummer, especially if you're buying the V8 pot primarily because of the noise like I am.

When it comes to the reduced noise with the PPF I think it's both but I'm sure some V8 owner will soon be along with more specific info. Otherwise there should be some vids on the topic over on youtube.

Yeah I'm not really a fan of the pops and cracks either. Might have been cool back when the F-Type was introduced but now it just feels a bit four banger boy racer hot hatch and I've actually considered getting the car remapped just to get rid of them.
