I had the underbody inspected yesterday by a JLR specialist who also applies Lanoguard. I wanted them to have a look and see if I'd rather replace anything first due to corrosion before applying Lanoguard.

They were impressed by how clean and mint the underbody is which is reassuring (MY18, 26K miles). However they're quoting silly money to have it steam cleaned, prepared and protected with Lanoguard. They really go to town with it, removing wheels, wheel arch liner, it takes a full week. They had a Porsche on the ramp so I could see the process. It's impressive but I'm very familiar with Lanoguard and I know I don't need all that to achieve good protection besides I like DIY.

The trouble is that I can't get the car on my portable ramps which have served me really well with my previous cars and existing SUV.

I can't find a local garage with a rent a ramp service so I'm looking for advice. I thought about jacking the car and resting on the ramps to clean and protect the underbody but I have no experience with a Jack nevermind a suitable one for the F-type.

Any thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks.

I'm thinking of getting this jack. Does anyone have it or would suggest a different one?

Here’s the jacking points in the online manual. Looks like you would need a rubber adaptor to use a trolley jack so you don’t damage the sill

I think there are triangular indents in the sill to indicate where the points are located.

I'm sure this has been flagged before.
Jaguar cut and pasted an ailian into the manual.
This is not the underside of an F Type so don't go looking for jacking point's that far inboard at the front. I believe the Jacking point's are on the substantial metal sill just inside of the plastic sill cover.
SCM is correct the jacking point's are marked on the underside of the sill with a triangle 🔺️ indent just behind the front wheel and just before the rear. You can just see them with your ear on the ground, much easier to feel where they are with your finger.

I've deleted the picture so as not to cause any issues with jacking in the wrong places.

It'll be good to highlight it again as it would seem everyone has the same picture in their manual.
