Hi,
I have a MY24 75 and it is at 19C. Looking through the posts on here I think I'm way behind on available updates. However, when I go to do a software update I am told there isn't one available. I do not have a SIM card in the car, do I need one for the update or does it go through the inbuilt SIM? Unfortunately the version I have does not have the ability to connect to my home wifi either.
I phoned Lookers to get the sp and they reckon they would need to have the car in for two days to run some tests and do the update! Is that kosher? Sounds like bo££ocks to me. I read some posts on here from people who said that their software updates were stuck and they got the dealer to push the update but Lookers said they couldn't do that. Those posts were a few years old though.
I'm thinking that as the car has SOTA I cannot do an update using a USB stick?
Any guidance would be welcomed. I'm going to get the 3 SIM anyway for map updates, so maybe that will fix this, although it is only 24GB so would I use most of it doing the software updates, if they have to go through my own SIM?

You could try Jaguar Customer Services to get SOTA activated. I think any car-related stuff goes through the Jaguar-supplied SIM so you shouldn't need a user SIM. Only the stuff you can't reasonably expect Jaguar to fund (your use of the Internet, additional satnav features, etc) need the user SIM. Correct me if I'm wrong!
