Cams across this throttle response controller for the F-type and wondered if anyone has ever heard about it or has any experience with it?

I gather that a throttle controller makes more sense for a turbo engine but still, is there much point in having extra control over the throttle response?

On this point, I only drive in dynamic mode and the throttle response is good not mind blowing fast but it's nice and progressive. I like to blip it to make gear changing smoother and it gets those revs up quickly enough. When in neutral though, it needs a bit more to get the revs going. I thought that it might benefit from a reset. Does anyone know how to reset it using the OBD port or through another combination or start up sequence?

Surely this is just an expensive gizmo to change the amount of pedal movement between closed and WOT, or am I missing something?
Perhaps if you are looking to somehow tune it other than the standard and sport modes there would be some value, but not something that feels of real benefit.

There's a sort-of discussion on throttle response on the US forum, though aimed at the manual gearbox models ....

Yeah, I've seen that last night which prompted me to look into this gizmo and ask here for feedback. Do you happen to know the procedure to reset the throttle adaptation?

All they do is change the rate of reaction of the electrical input. Seems like you would just be spending money on something that is the equivalent of just pushing on the throttle more ๐Ÿ˜‚

Hi there, apologies i'm rather late to this post, and whilst I can't provide any insight into the product highlighted, I can share a little understanding of why an item such as this exists.
My F type is my daily drive and I've added 52k in the past 2 yrs of ownership, all without any issues whatsoever. Current mileage is 88k, and I do attend track days and hillclimb events whenever I can, so every mod I add to my car has both a longevity aspect as well as a performance angle in mind.
I've had the upper and lower pulleys swapped out with a Viezu remap on my V6, and whilst the change was dramatic compared to stock, there have always been issues with the low end power delivery, and this was only enhanced & highlighted by the new higher torque output.
Another factor i found quite unnerving following the remap, the throttle response in dynamic mode was more like an on / off switch, and I found it particularly difficult to modulate, particularly when tring to pull away in any fashion other than a full bore launch - fine for a track day, no so good when your doing 10mph around a hairpin.on a winding country road with drystone walls hemming you in!
The team at Viezu pointed out that their tuning map only affects rpms above 2k, (leaving all original Jaguar settings alone for low rpm and minimal throttle positions to maintain town driving mpg) but my issues manifest themselves very much from 1000 to 1750 rpms, with a slight but noticable stuttering hesitation in pick up before everything comes on song.
I've been considering a further remap to see if this would cure this issue, but I've also been researching these add ons as alternative routes to success.
One such line of enquiry has been with Wraptor Customs in Alcester, where they offer a 'Smooth Linear Throttle Kit'
I've been following Dudley and his work for a while on YouTube, and most recently had my interest piqued by his methodology of treatment of failed injectors Vs a dealership or other independent, knowing that this could be something that will befall my current unblemished failure record.
Fast forward a few months, and following a particularly evil 100 mile drive in the midst of storm Bert, the following morning I had a non-start and the culprit being an injector issue.
Knowing the possible outcomes of this with the potential for sheared injectors, I sent my vehicle up to Wraptor to get all the injectors pulled, (both age and mileage concerns led me to pull all, but it transpires that 4 had previously been changed, whilst the failed one was an original, as evidenced by the 5hr fight to remove it from the cylinder head!) and have a few longevity maintenance items squared up whilst with him on the ramps and disassembled (aluminium Y-pipe kit installed, supercharger overhaul with new bearing, coupler, and oil change), and added both an enlarged charge cooler and his Smooth Linear Throttle Kit, with the promise that if it wasn't delivering the appropriate enhancement, it could be removed and full refund issued.
Collecting the car late on Christmas eve, I can happily report that everything is now resolved, and the addtion of the smooth throttle kit is nothing short of miraculous.
Even in standard mode with auto shifting, the car feels like it has electric motors supplementing the petrol engine, the pick up from 1000rpm is transformed, no stutters, no hesitation, just a constant urge to get up and go!
This continues right up through the revs, and feels to have enhanced the previous performance mods
tenfold.
I appreciate that this is not a cheap kit, but for me personally, it has been worth every penny to achieve the results I now enjoy.
I can see there is a market for this sort of add on, just not sure it's something the weekend user will see significant benefits from unless they are always driving in a spirited manner, which to be honest is how you should always be driving an F-Type ๐Ÿ˜

I can see the reason these products exist. Unfortunately, a good driving experience comes second to a good set of emissions numbers, so "clever" manufacturers use various software trickery to interpret what the driver asks for before sending the command to the engine. Add mods to the engine and the opportunity for this interpretation to cause problems is huge. Best solution is often to replace the engine management system with a programmable standalone unit, but this is hugely expensive, and may not even be possible given the complex integration of systems on modern cars.

It's such a shame, the original fly by wire systems were designed to give the ultimate in throttle response. I ran a 2GR-FE from a Link G4. Throttle response could be programmed to taste, but a clean 1:1 with no delays was as good a response as I have ever experienced.
