It’s very hard to describe the difference - you need to experience both to form a view.itsajaaaag wrote: ↑Sun Aug 06, 2023 8:56 pm About the particulate filter - how "less noisy" is it? Is it just less pops and crackles or generally lower exhaust volume in decibels? If it's the former, than I don't mind a little less pops and bangs but if it's the latter, then this is a major bummer, especially if you're buying the V8 pot primarily because of the noise like I am.
I was originally set on getting a non PPF car but when I tested a 18MY car with all the volume and pops and bangs it did seem almost embarrassingly excessive…so I was happy to get a 19MY car in the end (but this was more about finding the right car/spec - I’d be happy with either).
When I’m in the mood for a blast I do think my car is too quiet and crave a bit more volume.
Removing fuse 15 increases the volume to some extent but does also add some drone at certain revs….so you can’t win!
The SVR exhaust is also different from the R so that’s another variable.
Overall, I do think the earlier cars sound better, but you might be willing to sacrifice some drama for a newer/better spec car.
Happy hunting!
